True North Reading Integrates Knowledge and Wisdom…
Learning Pioneers Brought Together…
To our knowledge, no other reading program in the world today has integrated child development and multiple discipline best practices into a “complete,” how-children-learn-best program like True North Reading: The Complete Mastery Reading & Spelling Program does.
From the start, True North Reading was created with wisdom from learning pioneers. And today, using online technologies, students can access integrated, hands-on learning with True North Reading from anywhere with an Internet connection.
Erin begins to gather research on the current state of reading.
Erin begins speaking at Early Childhood Conferences on teaching and learning, helping parents teach their children from birth.
First iterations of the Basic Code, Sound Signs, Sound Pictures, and the first Lead Card Game are developed. A public school counselor asks Erin to teach her four-year-old child to read with the new method. In nine months, the child reads at a second grade level.
Multi-Sensory Elements Developed
Preschool through pre-college students learn with multiple multi-sensory, hands-on cards and manipulatives, and more games and methods of learning are developed.
“The Complete Mastery Reading & Spelling Program” is trademarked and taught one-on-one and in small groups with public, private, and homeschooled students.
Public and private school students struggling with reading use the program one-on-one, with instruction written into their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Erin speaks on reading at learning conferences in Chicago, Denver, Lansing, and more.
Students ages 7-15 learn in LIVE group lessons of up to 30 children at a time, taught by Erin.
Parent Advisory Board
A group of 10 parents whose students are using True North Reading meet weekly over multiple years, to make sure that the development of the program continues to meet parents and students’ needs.
Certified Teacher Training

Because reading is so important, I wanted to make sure that my daughter started out reading right. Thank you so much—in four months’ time, she went from knowing nothing to reading sentences—and enjoying reading—she thinks reading is fun! I recommend True North Reading: The Complete Mastery Reading & Spelling Program to anyone who wants to start his or her child out right.— Beth, elementary school counselor and mom to a five-year-old daughter
I was a speech-language pathologist before homeschooling my kids (where I specialized in pediatrics) and I love the multisensory approach of your program. The ideas and suggestions for activities in between lessons are exactly what I would have asked parents of my clients do try to when I was in practice as a SLP! It is truly the best program to teach reading that I have come across in my 10+ years of homeschooling.— J. Peterson
I started out with my four-year-old daughter with True North Reading: The Complete Mastery Reading & Spelling program—and in under six months, she tested at a grade 2.5 level of reading! Amazing!— Mom to Odessa, in Kalamazoo, Michigan
After just his first year in school, my son didn’t want to read, and his teacher said that he needed help. Now—just two months later—Tristan is happy and smiling and reading words, and he can figure new words out easily. I’ve already told my friends about this program, because it changed our whole outlook on reading for us.— Michelle, mom to Tristan, age 6
